Tread Lightly! relies on many sources to help achieve our mission. Volunteers, agencies, partners and manufacturers all play a pivotal roll in helping us keep America’s public lands open and accessible. We’ve really been going the extra mile for the past few years and it is incredible to see that our hard work has been paying off and gaining recognition with some of these amazing vehicle donations that have gone directly to support us and keep TL! on trail.

IT ALL STARTED WITH THIS JEEP

We teamed up with HCF Motorsports to build us a custom 2021 JLU trail rig! Then we’ll turn around and give it away to one lucky TL! member.

What started as an everyday Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon on March 1, 2022 has been converted to a 2-seat Jeep buggy complete with one ton axles, 42 inch sticky tires a custom roll cage and some of the best aftermarket parts the offroad industry has to offer. WHAT A RIDE!

Congratulations to Antonio from Las Vegas.

It was right down to the wire waiting for an email response. We knew the winner but unfortunately didn’t have their phone number and just had to rely on email. But on the last day before having to pick a new winner, Laura our program manager took a road trip all the way to Vegas to knock on a few doors until we got the word to Antonio!

Now that’s going the extra mile!

THEN CAME THE HUMMER

We teamed up with GMC to partner on an auction of the first retail production unit of the all-electric 2024 GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV to raise funds to support its mission. The vehicle will be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale on Saturday, January 28 with all proceeds from the sale earmarked to support Tread Lightly!.

Scottsdale, Ariz. – Tread Lightly!, a non-profit dedicated to promoting outdoor recreation through stewardship and educational programs, will receive $500,000 from the sale of the first production unit of the 2024 GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction on Jan. 28, 2023. The non-profit will receive the full amount raised for the GMC HUMMER EV SUV, as Barrett-Jackson waived the fees and commissions typically associated with their collector vehicle auctions.

“We’re proud to support Tread Lightly! and their mission through the monumental sale of VIN 001 of the GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV at Barrett-Jackson,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC. “We’re honored to start the year off with this donation to a great cause. With the continued support of Barrett-Jackson to make this donation 100 percent a charitable endeavor, proceeds will support Tread Lightly! and their mission of environmental conservation.”

Tread Lightly!’s goal is to balance the needs of the people who enjoy outdoor recreation with the need to maintain healthy ecosystems and thriving populations of wildlife across the nation. Funds from the first retail unit of the GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV will be used to support its conservation mission as well as promote outdoor ethics and a sense of good stewardship in nature.

“We can’t thank the GMC brand and Barrett-Jackson enough for this amazing support,” said Matt Caldwell, Executive Director of Tread Lightly! “This funding will make numerous trail restorations projects and educational programs possible in areas across the country. These projects are at the heartbeat of what we do as we work to ‘protect the adventure’ for everyone.”

THE VEHICLE:

The GMC HUMMER EV Edition 1 SUV provides exceptional on-road performance and off-road capability, all powered by GM’s Ultium Platform.

FORD BRONCO WILDTRACK

Fourbie Exchange has partnered with us to auction of a 2021 Ford Bronco.

As an Official Partner of Tread Lightly!, Fourbie Exchange will support Tread Lightly!’s mission to protect off-road trail access and public lands through stewardship projects and responsible recreation education through an auction launching in early February.
