Tread Lightly! announces new Arizona Program Manager

NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (Jun 29, 2023)— Tread Lightly!, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting the responsible use of motorized vehicles through conservation and educational programs today announced the addition of a new Arizona Program Manager, Shawnessi De Donatis.

As the Arizona Program Manager, De Donatis will create and foster relationships with the land managers that allow for the implementation of Tread Lightly!’s trail restoration, education, and outreach programs. De Donatis is Tread Lightly!’s second program manager in Arizona and will primarily support the west side of the state.

A native Arizonan, De Donatis is back in her home state after living in the Colorado Rocky Mountains for 15 years. While in Colorado, she followed her passion for the outdoors where she was a raft guide, snowmobile tour guide, and outdoor education volunteer.  She brings her experience in a variety of industries, a strong talent for building trusted relationships, and her devotion to conservation.

In her free time, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including rafting, camping, hiking, fly fishing, snowmobiling, backpacking, paddleboarding, yoga, and dirt biking.

“We’re excited to continue to grow our team and our positive impact in Arizona,” said Matt Caldwell, Tread Lightly! Executive Director. “Shawnessi’s passion and enthusiasm for conservation is a huge asset to the TL! Team and Arizona and we’re very excited to have her on board.”

Since 2020, the Tread Lightly! team has grown from eight staff to 14, with the addition of De Donatis. With the addition of new hires and some staff relocation, the team now has staff onsite in the Eastern US, California, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Arizona. Additional locations are planned as resources become available.
