21 Dec Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Seven Mile Wash Kiosk Install
Project: Seven Mile Wash Kiosk Install
Location: Arizona
Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding trail stewardship projects in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.
On December 7, 2023, ten volunteers installed the first-ever Tread Lightly! kiosk in the Globe Ranger district of the Tonto National Forest, at the intersection of the 645 and the 303. The kiosk included educational information on how off-trail illegal motorized activity impacts soil erosion and local ranchers. The signs also included new maps of the area and information about how to protect wildlife habitats in this amazing area.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
“From concept to installation, we had a great experience working with Tread Lightly!, AZ Plasma and TRAL to install the kiosk at Seven Mile Wash. The group collaborated and developed a message delivery for the users in the area resulting in an exceptional design and streamlined install. From the Globe Ranger District, Thank You!”-Sheryl Cormack, Tonto National Forest
“Tread Lightly! was instrumental in the development and installation of an interpretive kiosk for the public. The entire team was very responsive, helpful, and collaborative during the entire process. They listened to our concerns and needs and kept everyone up-to-date about progress and needs. During the day of installation, they helped coordinate getting the necessary supplies with partners and ensured the install was flawless.”-Matthew Smith, Tonto National Forest
