21 Nov Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Stansbury Front Trail Project
Project: Stansbury Front Trail Project
Location: Utah
Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding trail stewardship projects in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.
On August 31,2024, Tread Lightly!, along with the Salt Lake Ranger District and a volunteer worked to improve the popular Stansbury Front Trail.
The Stansbury Front is a heavily used and popular trails system that is used by a large swath of recreationists such as campers, mountain bikers, off-roaders, hikers and climbers. The trail stretches 25 miles from north to south and winds through the forest, providing a breathtaking view of the area. This trail system is in desperate need of maintenance and volunteers were excited to lend a hand.
Together, the team worked to dig drain ditches along the trail to decrease the natural erosion caused by snowmelt and rain along the Stansbury Front. Water can erode and damage the trail system by causing ditches that can be dangerous for users. In total, the team improved 25 miles of trail.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
