Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding trail stewardship projects in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.

West Virginia Overland LLC was asked to support an evaluation and trail inventory for Mountwood County Park ATV trails and campground area to assess its usability for OHV vehicle usage. The purpose of the assessment is to provide Mountwood County Park a report to use for evaluating the repairs needed and improvements to the current ATV trails and to be able to source quotes from potential contractors to make the needed improvements.

The project was sponsored by Tread Lightly! and Can-Am Off-Road to support responsible off-road recreation in the Mountwood Park, while growing the infrastructure to support OHV off-road tourism. Through their support, Thomas Burton of WV Overland LLC and Scott Ammerman of Tread Lightly!, were able to conduct the trail assessment over a three-day period and compile that information into the development of this report. The report will be laid out and broken down by an overall assessment and each individual trail requirements needed for improvement.
