Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Cold Springs Trail Maintenance

Project: Cold Springs Trail Maintenance
Location: Utah

Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding trail stewardship projects in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.

On August 24, 2024, 10 volunteers supported trail maintenance in the Cold Springs area of the Heber-Kamas Ranger District in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. The volunteers consisted of industry friends and Dedicated Hunters who want to give back to an area they use during hunting seasons.

The area has several user-created routes that have damaged the vegetation, natural resources and beauty of the area. Together, Tread Lightly! and volunteers erected worm fencing along a meadow to aid in natural restoration.

Volunteers also installed four posts with attached route markers to identify designated routes in accordance with the Motor Vehicle Use Map that is available in the local Ranger District Office.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
