Project: Dash Point State Park Restoration
Location: Washington

Description: On Friday, November 1, 2024, Tread Lightly! partnered with iKamper for a hands-on stewardship project at Dash Point State Park in Washington. A team of 13 dedicated volunteers from iKamper joined forces to protect young trees that had become threatened by invasive vegetation, including aggressive vines and dense blackberry bushes.

Throughout the day, volunteers worked to carefully cut back, remove, and clear invasive plants from around newer trees, giving them the space and resources needed to grow and thrive. This effort supported ongoing habitat restoration within the park, improved trail-adjacent areas, and contributed to a healthier forest ecosystem overall.

The project demonstrated how partners can make a meaningful difference on public lands in just a few hours. By helping to remove invasive species and protect native vegetation, the team contributed to long-term ecological health and enhanced the experience for park visitors.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

“The hard work from iKamper’s volunteers made a big impact at Dash Point. Freeing young trees from invasive plants gives them a fighting chance and helps restore the natural integrity of the park.”-Grace Schuessler, Tread Lightly! Oregon Program Manager
