19 Nov Tread Lightly! Impact Report: National Public Lands Day Pleasant Grove Fence Repair
Project: National Public Lands Day Pleasant Grove Fence Repair
Location: Utah
Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding trail stewardship projects in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.
On National Public Lands Day, September 28, 2024, Tread Lightly!, the Pleasant Grove Ranger District and 16 volunteers from the Backcountry Offroad Adventure Rally (B.O.A.R) worked to repair fencing along the Snake Creek Road, a heavily used area by the OHV community in the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
Volunteers split into two groups and worked along the road, rebuilding and repairing post and rail fencing at a major intersection. Together, they replaced 300 linear feet of fencing, which will help traffic stay on the designated routes, keeping riders safe and the natural vegetation in the area protected.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
- Can-Am Off-Road
- Backroad Offroad Adventure Rally (B.O.A.R.)
- US Forest Service
“I love coming out and giving back to the forest. My kids see me giving my time and I’m proud to be a good example to them. It’s important to help out.”-Cody, volunteer
