TREAD LIGHTLY! 101 ONLINE AWARENESS COURSE

Including recently updated content this 30-45 minute course is designed to teach the basics about Tread Lightly! and more importantly, how to minimize your impacts in the outdoors. The course utilizes knowledge checks and scenarios to teach the Tread Lightly! principles and how to apply them in real world situations including drones, OHVs, snowmobiles, personal watercraft, etc.

E-BIKE RIGHT

Tread Lightly! has partnered with the Trail Trust to develop an e-bike ethics course. Designed to teach you how to minimize your impacts and enjoy the trails responsibly, you will learn how to apply the T.R.E.A.D. Principles while using your e-bike. Do Your Part to protect access to the trails you love by riding responsibly!

TL! KIDS YOUTH ONLINE COURSE

Join Lightfoot, Claude and Jane in the new and improved Tread Lightly! Youth Online Course created for elementary school ages. This is a great introduction to the T.R.E.A.D. Kid’s Pledge:

  • Travel on trails
  • Respect animals, plants and people
  • Educate yourself. Be safe and be prepared
  • Always be careful with fire
  • Do your part

Children can fill out a certificate of completion that shows their commitment to treading lightly.

TL! KIDS MATCHING GAME

An introduction to outdoor ethics designed for younger kids. The matching game is a fun introduction to the T.R.E.A.D. Pledge:

  • Travel on trails
  • Respect animals, plants and people

  • Always be careful with fire
  • Do your part

Children can fill out a certificate of completion that shows their commitment to treading lightly.

MASTER TREAD TRAINER QUALIFICATION EXAM

The Master Tread Trainer Qualification Exam tests the knowledge of participants of the Master Tread Trainer Course. In order to become a qualified trainer, participants must first participate in a live, in-class course. Following the course, participants must pass this exam with a score of 80% or better. A coupon code for the online exam is given at the end of the in-class course. The following topics are covered:

Ride Mighty! Tread Lightly!

We’ve partnered with Utah Office of Tourism to bring a introductory responsible recreation course. New off-roaders can learn all about why it’s important to ride responsibly and help keep Utah’s trails open. Get the basics on minimal impact recreation, safety and how to keep our public land open, healthy and beautiful.  The course utilizes knowledge checks and scenarios to teach the Tread Lightly! principles and how to apply them in real-world situations while riding your UTV or ATV. Know before you go!
