Project: Whitney Reservoir Signage Installation Project
Location: Wyoming
Description: On June 9, 2026, Tread Lightly! partnered with the Evanston–Mountain View Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service to complete the installation of educational signage at the Whitney Reservoir and North Slope Staging Area. Following the previous installation of two double-panel kiosks at these locations, Tread Lightly! worked alongside a representative from the U.S. Forest Service to install the informational panels.
The newly installed displays feature updated area maps, responsible recreation messaging, and important safety information designed to help visitors recreate safely while encouraging stewardship of our shared public lands. These kiosks provide valuable resources for off-highway vehicle (OHV) users, helping them better understand the trail system, follow responsible riding practices, and contribute to protecting access to public lands for future generations.
By improving visitor access to current trail information and educational resources, this project strengthens communication between land managers and recreationists while promoting safe, sustainable OHV use. Investments in visitor education like these help protect natural resources, improve the recreation experience, and support the long-term stewardship of public lands.
Thank you to the Evanston–Mountain View Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service for their continued partnership and commitment to improving outdoor recreation through education and responsible access management.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
