30 Jul Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Cinder Hills Replacement Kiosk Installation
Project: Cinder Hills Replacement Kiosk Installation
Location: Arizona
Description: On May 16, 2024, five volunteers worked to reinstall a kiosk and signage that was damaged by a full-size truck in early April 2024 on SR 776 in the Cinder Hills OHV Area. This was a great effort between Arizona State Parks OHV who funded the replacement through a grant, Arizona Plasma who fabricated the new sign, and the Tread Lightly! team who worked to get dedicated volunteers on the ground.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
- USFS
- Arizona State Parks OHV Program
- Arizona Plasma
“This information kiosk was installed to replace one that had been damaged in the Cinder Hills OHV area on the Coconino N.F. I was very impressed with the response by Tread Lightly! and AZ Plasma to acquire funds from the state OHV decal program, fabricate the new kiosk, reprint the damaged information panels and come to Flagstaff to replace the damaged kiosk. A lot of moving parts and people were involved in this project and it speaks to the professionalism of those involved to get this done in a timely manner. I always appreciate working with these guys!”- Matt Sommer Flagstaff R.D. Recreation
“We are excited to have been part of a great cleanup event hosted by Michelle at Tread Lightly!. Arizona Plasma installed an informational kiosk in collaboration with Tread Lightly!. Arizona Plasmas partnership with Tread Lightly! is helping promote responsible outdoor recreation through education and community engagement”-Arizona Plasma
