Tread Lightly! Impact Report: St Peter’s Dome Wildlife Habitat Signage

Project: St Peter’s Dome Wildlife Habitat Signage
State: Arizona

Description:On December 19, 2024, ten volunteers installed 18 wildlife habitat protection signs along the OHV trails in the St. Peter’s Dome area.

Areas off-trail are closed to protect the soil, water, vegetation and wildlife that live in the area. Signage in the area was worn, and the information was outdated. The new signs are a big improvement and include maps, species and detailed information about how to protect local habitats

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

“This project went off without a hitch. Michelle with Tread Lightly! was very instrumental in producing a beautiful sign to get our message out about a non-motorized area. Michelle brought a crew with her, the Apache-Sitgreaves Forest Service sent a crew, we had volunteers from Navajo County Search and Rescue and Apache County ATV Club to install the signs. It was a great collaborative effort between organizations working towards a common goal to protect our environment. We look forward to working with Tread Lightly! on future projects!”-Officer Nancy Huser, Arizona Game and Fish Department
