Adams Canyon Stewardship Project Day 1

- End of work day.
- About 2:00pm
- Return to parking lot:
- About 3:00pm.
- Volunteers can leave earlier if they have previous engagements.
- Group Hosting:
- US Forest Service
- Task:
- Hike 1 to 2 miles up the Adams Canyon trail, carrying tools.
- Build new trail – using picks, pulaskis, and digging tools, move dirt, rocks, and build new trail tread
- Build rock structures – rock walls, rock steps, or causeways. May involve helping carry or move heavy rocks
- Perform heavy trail maintenance.
- Safety:
- For COVID, if someone is unvaccinated, they need to wear a mask if within 6ft of other people.
- Gloves should be worn at all times when using tools.
- Safety glasses should be worn when using tools.
- Closed toed shoes and pants should be worn.
- What to bring:
- Your own gloves
- Your own sunglasses/safety glasses
- Long pants, closed toed shoes
- Seasonally appropriate clothing
- Water and food for yourself
- A Face Mask if needed
