During Easter Jeep Safari 2026, Tread Lightly! and SEMA, in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management, TORA, and ORBA, will lead a hands-on stewardship project along the first two miles of the Kane Creek Safari Route.
Volunteers will work alongside BLM staff to install buck-and-rail fencing at designated locations to protect sensitive resources, clearly define the travel route, and help ensure long-term motorized access. This project supports responsible recreation and reinforces our shared commitment to keeping trails open and sustainable for future generations.
Participants will meet at 9:00 AM at a staging location near Kane Creek Road and depart at 9:30 AM for the Safari Route trailhead. The project is expected to conclude on or before 2:00 PM. If we have approximately 40 volunteers, we anticipate finishing closer to 12:30 PM.
This is a working project. Volunteers should come prepared for light to moderate physical labor, including post setting, rail placement, and site cleanup. Lunch will be provided by TORA.
To ensure through-traffic access is not blocked, we will limit the trail to 15 vehicles. Volunteers can carpool or shuttle as needed (there is parking by the trail head, so if we have more than 15 vehicles, we can leave some in the parking lot and volunteers can jump into one of the vehicles hitting the trail)
