Tread Lightly! Event Report: Arizona Bronco Round-Up

Location: Glendale, Arizona
Description: On December 16, 2023, a collection of over 225 Ford Broncos, along with their owner-enthusiasts gathered at Sanderson Ford in Glendale, Arizona for the 2nd annual Arizona Bronco Round-Up.

In 2022, the Arizona Bronco Round-Up was just a dream of the event founder, Joey Bombaci, a life-long Bronco enthusiast and owner of a 1977 Bronco. After sharing his dream with 4 other Bronco enthusiasts: Todd Zuercher, author of the book, A History of Ford’s Legendary 4×4 Ford Bronco; Daniel Higgins, Bronco Sales Specialist, Sanderson Ford; Jordon Sheahan, Founder, Arizona Broncos; and Matt Caldwell, Executive Director of Tread Lightly!; this group worked together to make the event a reality with the first event taking place in December of 2022.

With the event being scheduled in December of each year, the group felt it was important to use the event as an opportunity to give back to the community. The event has served as a donation opportunity for Operation Santa Claus, a campaign designed to bring joy to families in need through toy donations. The event has also supported Tread Lightly!, a national nonprofit that focuses on stewardship and education related to responsible motorized and off-road recreation on public lands.

The first two years of the event have drawn Bronco enthusiasts not just from Arizona, but from across the country. Due to this success, planning for the 3rd annual round-up in 2024 has already begun.

Tread Lightly! would like to say “Thank You” to the all the attendees and the partners who made the event possible:

“I wanted to bring the whole Bronco community together from far and wide to just hang out no matter what condition of their Bronco and just enjoy the hobby together! Tread Lightly! has supported me and the event from the start and this is my way to give back and I believe in what Tread Lightly! stands for, the preservation of our trails and outdoor places so we can have fun responsibly.” – Joey Bombaci, Arizona Bronco Round-Up Founder

“I really like the Bronco Round-Up because it’s a great opportunity for Bronco owners from throughout the state and beyond to get together, check out each other’s rigs and get to know each other better. Gatherings like this give us owners a great chance to check out how others modify their vehicles and perhaps get a few ideas for our own. I’ve been a big fan of Tread Lightly since its inception because I believe their principles for responsible trail use are important for our continued ability to use public lands and preserve those lands and trails for future generations.” – Todd Zuercher, Author, A History of Ford’s Legendary 4×4 Ford Bronco

“Arizona Broncos was founded on the premise of bridging the gap between Bronco enthusiasts and the Arizona community. The Arizona Bronco Roundup delivered this message by bringing the community together to support a great cause, Tread Lightly! From the Arizona Broncos Group, we appreciate this partnership and hope to see this grow and grow and bring even more Broncos together from across the country! Thank you to our partners Joey, Matt, Daniel and Todd for envisioning this dream and including Arizona Broncos to help bring it to life.” – Jordon Sheahan, Founder, Arizona Broncos

“I’m incredibly proud to be a part of the Arizona Bronco Round-Up and look forward to growing it into one of the best Bronco Shows all year round. Sanderson Ford has been selling Broncos since they were introduced in 1966 and it is important for us to celebrate the Bronco’s rich history, off-roading community and fantastic owners that really make this show so special. Along with promoting the Bronco brand, comes with promoting responsible motorized recreation education, and that’s where our partnership with Tread Lightly! really shines. Supporting Tread Lightly! means supporting your local off-road community and keeping trails open for generations of future Bronco owners! Huge thanks to my friends & fellow Bronco enthusiasts: Joey, Matt, Jordon, & Todd for making this show possible!” – Daniel Higgins, Sanderson Ford Bronco Sales Specialist
