28 Apr Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Bald Mountain Jeep Trail Cleanup
Project: Bald Mountain Jeep Trail Cleanup
Location: Virginia
Description: On April 20, 2024, 12 volunteers from the Association of Northern American Rover Clubs (ANARC) and the Virginia 4 Wheel Drive Association (V4WDA) gathered for a cleanup and trail ride along the Bald Mountain Jeep Trail in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
Together they removed 1,280 pounds of trash and improved 12 miles of trail.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
- Association of North American Rover Clubs (ANARC)
- Virginia 4 Wheel Drive Association (V4WDA)
- Go Fox Adventures
“Go Fox Adventures believes strongly in the value of conservation and cleanup projects, and it was important to us to be here for this project in the Glenwood Pedlar District (our 5th!), and also representing the Land Rover club from my hometown of Richmond Virginia. Adventure dog Abigail was also happy to get out of the house and into the woods! We even had extra hands and vehicles from VA4WDA in our group who came over from the other cleanup they were hosting in the same district. Partnerships like this really help us make a difference for the Forest Service, and cleaning up our trails as we go is the responsibility of every motorized user.”- Ricky Henry, Managing Partner, Go Fox Adventures
