Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Pyeatt Draw Rake and Ride with Tonto Recreation Alliance

Project: Pyeatt Draw Rake and Ride with Tonto Recreation Alliance
Location: Arizona

Description: On May 31, the Tonto Recreation Alliance (TRAL) led a rock crawl run on a trail outside of Payson, Arizona. In total, 35 individuals and 18 4×4 vehicles participated.

Not only did new enthusiasts get to learn driving techniques on a more technical trail, but they also were able to help leave the forest better than they found it, by packing out litter from the trail and campsites along the way. In total, 200 pounds of trash were removed.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

“Saturday was the perfect day for a rake and ride. The trail offered a great mix of technical challenges for both new and experienced drivers, and the people were incredible. We kept a steady pace while cleaning up trash along the way—proof that making a positive impact on the places we love can be simple and fun. More trips like this are definitely in order”- Jamie Dixon, enthusiast and volunteer
