Description: This project was funded by a BFGoodrich® Tires Outstanding Trails grant awarded by Tread Lightly!. Each year the Outstanding Trails program provides opportunities for off-roading clubs across America to nominate trails to receive grants for education and preservation. Since 2006, BFGoodrich has awarded more than $200,000 in grants to support organizations dedicated to conserving off-road trails. Past grant recipients have installed educational signage, improved infrastructure, and repaired local off-roading trails. 

On April 26, 2025, Mohawk 4×4 Adventures, Inc organized a group of 22 volunteers to execute an Earth Day cleanup in Warwick State Forest in Warwick, MA to help keep the 4×4 routes clean and open for recreation.

Five groups of seven rigs worked over nine hours to fill a 14-yard dumpster to the brim plus about 38 additional tires and wheels. In total, volunteers removed 2,180 pounds of trash and improved nearly 14 miles of foresIt roads and trails.

This cleanup effort was possible due to the incredible support of both national and local partners. BFGoodrich Tires, through its Outstanding Trails Grant program, helped to keep the volunteer team safe during the project by providing PPE materials and bright “safety” t-shirts so that the volunteers were easy to see while doing this work. Teamwork from many made this day a huge success.
