27 Jun Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Wolf Creek Loop Cleanup w/ Summit 4×4
Project: Wolf Creek Loop Cleanup w/ Summit 4×4
Location: Arizona
Description: On June 22, 2024, Tread Lightly!, along with Summit 4×4 Company, hosted a cleanup in the Wolf Creek area of the Prescott National Forest. Together 65 volunteers helped to remove over 1,000 pounds of trash from the area, improving 4.9 miles of this popular loop trail.
After the cleanup, volunteers gathered at Summit 4×4 Company for a thank you barbecue and raffle. We’d like to thank the volunteers, several who came from out of state to give back to this area and participate in the Ladies Night Campout.
Thank you to the partners who made this possible:
- Summit 4×4
- USFS–Prescott National Forest
- Ladies Night Campouts
- Canyon Coolers
- AZ Plasma
- American Dumpster Disposal
“The Wolf Creek cleanup was a huge success. We had over 60 volunteers in attendance, with several of them traveling from out of town or state. A testament to the incredible off-road and Prescott community we’re privileged to be a part of.”-Zack Sharpe, Summit 4×4 Company
“The Prescott National Forest, Bradshaw Ranger District is extremely thankful for all who came and participated in the kick-off clean-up event in the Wolf Creek and Senator Highway area. The turnout was phenomenal.
A huge thank you to Tread Lightly! and Summit 4×4 for advance collaboration/coordination, dumpster, water, meet-up location and more. We are looking forward to future events with Tread Lightly!, Summit 4×4 and motorized OHV community.”-Susan Johnson, Prescott National Forest
“This is the kind of work our 20-year Regional Strategic Plan Mission Statement encompasses, ‘As the public’s steward, we join forces with communities in the work of sustaining forests and grasslands.’”-John Kava, Prescott National Forest Deputy District Ranger
