31 Jan Union/Utica and Waka Lu Hep Yo Campground Recycling Collection Program
STATUS: COMPLETED
PROJECT DURATION: Feb to April 2016
Description from USDA Forest Service:
Union/Utica and Waka Lu Hep Yo campgrounds are on public lands frequented by hunters, anglers, and recreational shooters. They also provide access to motorized vehicle routes. We would like to implement a recycling collection program; the scope of work will include the purchase, installation, and maintenance of recycling infrastructure within developed recreation areas.
Intended outcomes of a recycling collection program in these high use areas include reduction of solid waste sent to landfills, promotion of responsible recreation through stewardship education, and overall protection of hunting, fishing, recreational shooting, and motorized vehicle access by providing funds (found money) for ongoing maintenance.
