Project: Blanding Dump Site Clean-up Project
Location: Utah

Description: On May 16, 2026, Tread Lightly! partnered with representatives from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), local volunteers, and a member of the Red Rock 4-Wheelers to conduct a dump site cleanup near Blanding, Utah. The project focused on removing illegally discarded waste from several sites along well-used off-highway vehicle (OHV) routes that provide access to our shared public lands.

Working together, the team removed approximately 2,000 pounds of illegally dumped garbage from the landscape, filling a 40-yard dumpster with waste collected throughout the cleanup. By restoring these impacted areas, volunteers helped improve the appearance of public lands while protecting wildlife habitat, enhancing recreational opportunities, and promoting responsible outdoor stewardship.

Projects like this help ensure that Utah’s public lands remain clean, safe, and accessible for the many outdoor enthusiasts who rely on these routes to explore and enjoy the outdoors. This cleanup also highlights the value of partnerships and volunteer service in protecting our shared natural resources for future generations.

A sincere thank you goes out to the Bureau of Land Management, the Red Rock 4-Wheelers, and all of the dedicated volunteers who donated their time and energy to make this project a success. Your commitment to caring for our public lands is greatly appreciated and demonstrates the power of working together to conserve and protect these special places.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

  • Utah BLM East
  • Red Rock 4-Wheelers
