Tread Lightly! announces new Director of Marketing and Communications

NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (Jul 31, 2023)— Tread Lightly!, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting the responsible use of motorized vehicles through conservation and educational programs today announced the addition of Mike Sype as its Director of Marketing and Communications.

As the Director of Marketing and Communications, Sype is responsible for leading and creating the strategic and tactical plans for Tread Lightly!’s marketing and communications team. 

“Mike’s industry knowledge and experience, as well as his passion for off-roading will be critical to take Tread Lightly!’s mission to the next level.” said Matt Caldwell, Tread Lightly! Executive Director. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team and excited to see where his leadership takes the organization.”

Sype’s career has spanned over 20+ years in the automotive industry; most recently as Brand Manager for Rancho Suspension, DynoMax Exhaust & Thrush Exhaust. As an avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoys spending time with his family & friends off-roading, over landing, hunting, hiking & fishing.  

“I’m excited to begin a new journey and to make an impact with an incredible team,” said Sype.

Since 2020, the Tread Lightly! team has grown from eight staff to 14, with the addition of Sype. Located in Michigan, Sype expands the TL! Team presence to the Midwest and Great Lakes region. Tread Lightly! also has staff onsite in the Eastern US, California, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, and Arizona. Additional locations are planned as resources become available.
