Tread Lightly! Impact Report: Seven Mile Rim Project 1

Project: Seven Mile Rim Project 1
Location
: Utah

Description: This project was funded by Can-Am Off-Road. Can-Am has committed to funding twelve trail stewardship projects in the state of Utah in partnership with Tread Lightly! to help maintain and improve access to public lands and off-road trails.

On August 8th, Red Rock 4-Wheelers, Tread Lightly! and the Bureau of Land Management Moab Field Office started work on a trail project in the Seven Mile Rim area of Moab, Utah. The work focused on building nearly 40 braces for a buck and rail fencing project designed to rehabilitate areas impacted by non-designated travel that has occurred in the area.

Following the completion of this work, thanks to the support of from Can-Am, Tread Lightly! was able to provide additional lumber that will be used on several futures projects planned in that area, leading up to National Public Lands Day.

Thank you to the partners who made this possible:

  • Can-Am Offroad
  • Bureau of Land Management Moab Field Office
  • Red Rock 4-Wheelers

“I was very excited to have the opportunity to come and work on this project in Moab. Moab is a special place for both its beauty and its amazing trail system. It’s important for us make sure that we are actively working to conserve these trails for today, tomorrow and many years to come. A huge “thank you” to Can-Am for the amazing support and to Red Rock 4-Wheelers for all that they do to conserve the trails in Moab.”-Matt Caldwell, Tread Lightly! Executive Director
