08 Sep Tread Lightly! continues to expand, announces new Arizona Program Manager

NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (Sep 8, 2022)— Tread Lightly!, a U.S.-based nonprofit dedicated to promoting responsible outdoor recreation through stewardship and educational programs today announced the addition of a new Program Manager in Arizona, Michelle Ramos.

As the Arizona Program Manager, Ramos will create and foster relationships with the land managers that allow for the implementation of Tread Lightly!’s stewardship, education, and outreach programs.

Since 2020, the Tread Lightly! team has grown from eight staff to 15, with the addition of Ramos. With the addition of new hires and some staff relocation, the team now has staff onsite in the Pacific Northwest, Southeast US, California, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah and Arizona. Additional locations are planned as resources become available.

Ramos has nearly 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, including directing multifaceted informal education programs and community engagement for large organizations such as the Phoenix Zoo, Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, and the Arizona Humane Society. Michelle has spent much of her career building relationships in the community, creating programs that fit current needs and educating on conservation and the importance of wildlife and human coexistence.

She has also served as a volunteer with Arizona Offroad Promotions (AZOP) racing, assisting with race ops and as an off-road photographer for UTV Offroad Adventures. A native of Arizona, she spends much of her free time enjoying the trails and the beautiful wild places Arizona has to offer.

Executive Director. “Her experience in the nonprofit sector and passion for off-roading and conservation will be extremely valuable in helping grow Tread Lightly!’s impact across Arizona.”
